Palletways members deliver the goods for BBC Children in Need

18.10.2017 –
For the third consecutive year, Somerset-based logistics firm, Just Vans Ltd, has joined forces with members across the Palletways network to lend logistical support and deliver goods to this year’s BBC Children in Need ‘CarFest’ charity events.

Just Vans, Telford-based KRL, Newtonabbey-based Montgomery Transport and Andover-based AET Transport, all members of Palletways, Europe’s largest and fastest growing express palletised freight network, teamed up to form a transport chain for Children in Need, carrying merchandise from Market Harborough, Leicestershire to the Pudsey shop in CarFest North at Bolesworth Castle, Cheshire and CarFest South at Laverstoke Park Farm, Hampshire.

Event organisers at CarFest needed 27 pallets worth of stock to be collected and transported to the event showgrounds with KRL delivering 15 pallets to CarFest North and AET delivering 12 pallets to CarFest South. Montgomery Transport used their trucks to collect and deliver goods from the warehouse. Upon the conclusion of each event, members collected any remaining pallets and returned them to the warehouse.

All of the deliveries were made on time through Palletways’ UK distribution network and each of the four members pledged to transport the goods free of charge.
Robin Greenfield, operations manager for Just Vans, said: “We’re thrilled to support the CarFest events and BBC Children in Need for the third year in a row. It was great to partner up once again with fellow Palletways members and lend a hand to support a good cause.

“As with previous years, the response to my request for help was a resounding yes without any hesitation. Times like these show the upmost respect that Palletways members have for one another and reflects the team ethos that the network provides.”

There are now more than 110 members in the Palletways UK network. Palletways’ distribution networks are made up of independent transport companies who share resources to deliver consignments of express palletised freight to market faster and more cost effectively than ever before.

BBC Children in Need is a UK charity owned by the BBC. The charity has become prominent in British culture since its inception in 1980 and has raised over £600 million for disabled children and young people in the UK. An annual telethon has proved successful for the cause, with 2017’s event due for broadcast on November 17th, 2017.
