Hastings Freight raises cash ‘fore’ Sheffield hospice

The fundraising efforts of staff at Hastings Freight in Barlborough swung into action to help St Luke’s Hospice in Sheffield.

Hastings Freight, a member of Palletways, Europe’s largest and fastest growing express palletised freight network, held its inaugural Golf Day at Beauchief Golf Club in Sheffield. It was well supported with eight teams taking part, including a mix of customers and members of staff. They collectively helped to raise more than £4,700 for the charity that offers specialist palliative care for people aged 18 and over throughout Sheffield.

Megan Senior, fundraising manager at St Luke’s Hospice, said: “As demand for our services increases, we’re grateful for Hasting Freight’s support. The funds will make a real difference to the lives of people in this area now and in the future.”

Gary Askwith, commercial director at Hastings Freight, added: “This was our inaugural charity day, though due to its success it’ll definitely become an annual event. It’s a pleasure to donate to St Luke’s – we know how reliant the charity is for help and support and how much good work it’ll be able to do across the region as a result.”
